Goodcall alternatives: same $79, very different ceiling
Goodcall's Starter plan is $79/month per agent with unlimited minutes and tokens. WarmLane is also $79/month for one agent with unlimited inbound calls. On headline price these two are identical, so anyone telling you one is "cheaper" has not read both pricing pages.
The real differences sit in three places. Goodcall Starter includes 100 unique customers per month, then charges $0.50 for each additional one. It retains call and customer details for 7 days — 30 days on Growth at $129, unlimited on Scale at $249. And it gives you one logic flow that you build and maintain yourself.
WarmLane does not cap unique customers, keeps your full call history and transcripts, and our team builds and tunes the agent for you at no extra cost. Goodcall is the better pick if you want to configure everything yourself and like the logic-flow model; WarmLane is the better pick if you want it built for you and never want to think about a customer counter.

Source: goodcall.com/pricing, read 29 July 2026. All plans include unlimited minutes and tokens; Goodcall states there are no charges for call volume, minutes or AI tokens, with pricing based on unique customers served monthly. Additional unique customers beyond the plan allowance are $0.50 each. Team member seats are 3 / 9 / 50 and directory contacts 3 / 25 / 500 across the three tiers. Prices shown are per agent.
Credit where it is due: Goodcall's decision to make minutes and tokens unlimited is the right instinct, and it is the same instinct behind our own pricing. Nobody should be watching a meter while a customer is trying to book a job. Goodcall just moved the meter somewhere else.
The unique customer cap explained
Goodcall meters unique customers served per month. Starter includes 100; every one past that is $0.50. This is a more forgiving model than per-minute or per-call billing, because a repeat caller does not cost you again within the period. But it is still a cap, and it is worth working out where you land.
| Unique callers per month | Cheapest Goodcall route | Goodcall total | WarmLane total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | Starter, no overage | $79 | $79 |
| 150 | Starter + 50 @ $0.50 | $104 | $79 |
| 250 | Growth | $129 | $79 |
| 500 | Scale | $249 | $79 |
| 800 | Scale + 300 @ $0.50 | $399 | $79 |
Goodcall figures calculated from the published plan allowances and the $0.50 per-additional-customer rate above, read 29 July 2026, taking the cheapest available route at each volume. WarmLane figure is the launch price for one voice agent with unlimited inbound calls and no unique-customer metering; see warmlane.io/pricing. WarmLane is bring-your-own-Twilio and bring-your-own-OpenAI, so underlying telecom and AI usage is billed to you directly by those providers at cost.
At exactly 100 customers the two products cost the same. The divergence starts at customer 101 and widens from there. Whether that matters to you is a straightforward empirical question: count the distinct people who phoned your business last month. If the answer is comfortably under 100 and stable, the cap is theoretical and you can ignore this entire section.
If the answer is 200, or if it was 60 last February and 240 in June, the cap is not theoretical — it is a variable line on your invoice that moves in the same direction as your marketing spend.
The 7-day retention problem
This is the difference we would flag hardest, and it gets less attention than price because it does not show up until you need it.
Goodcall Starter retains call and customer details for 7 days. Growth extends that to 30 days at $129/month. Unlimited retention arrives at Scale, $249/month.
Seven days is short enough to bite in ordinary use. A customer disputes what they were quoted three weeks ago. You want to review how the agent handled a lead that went cold. Your accountant asks about a job booked last month. A caller says they were told something you would never say, and you would like to check. In every one of those situations, on Starter, the record is gone.
There is a broader point here. The transcript archive is arguably the most valuable by-product of running an AI receptionist — it is a searchable record of every question your market actually asks, in their words. That is competitive intelligence you cannot buy. A seven-day window turns a compounding asset into a rolling buffer.
WarmLane keeps your full call history: every call transcribed, AI-analysed for purpose, sentiment, outcome and a QA score, searchable and exportable to CSV. We store text transcripts rather than audio recordings, which keeps the privacy surface smaller while leaving the record intact.
Both cost $79. Only one of us will hand you the phone.
This is our live production agent — the same one our customers run. Ask it about pricing, interrupt it, throw an objection at it, ask it to book you in.
+1 (218) 683-6315That live call is exactly what your customers would hear.
Logic flows: who builds the agent?
Goodcall is a self-service product built around logic flows — you define the conversational paths your agent follows. Starter gives you one flow, Growth three, Scale twenty-five.
The flow model is genuinely powerful. If you want deterministic control over exactly what happens when a caller says a particular thing, and you enjoy building that, Goodcall gives you real levers and we would not pretend otherwise.
The honest counterpoint is that most business owners buy an AI receptionist because they are already too busy to answer the phone. Handing that person a flow builder is handing them a second job. The pattern we see repeatedly is a half-configured agent that goes live at sixty percent quality, produces mediocre calls, and never gets revisited because the owner is on a ladder.
WarmLane takes the opposite approach. Our team tunes the AI Brain to your business — your services, hours, pricing, policies, service area and FAQs — writes the greeting and objection handling, sets the booking rules, connects your calendar and points your number at the agent. Typically live in about 30 minutes, same day. Setup and ongoing support are included at no extra cost, and when you want something changed you email us instead of opening a builder.
Neither model is universally correct. It is a genuine preference. But it is the difference that actually decides this comparison, far more than the price does.

When Goodcall is the right choice
Goodcall is a mature, well-built, genuinely self-service product, and it is the closest thing to a direct peer that we have. There are real reasons to choose it over us.
You want to build and own the configuration yourself. Some people want the levers. If you are technical, or you simply like understanding exactly how your system behaves, a flow builder you control beats a team that configures it for you. That is a legitimate preference and Goodcall serves it better.
You need many distinct logic flows. Twenty-five flows on the Scale plan is real branching capability. If your call handling genuinely requires that many distinct deterministic paths, Goodcall's model is designed for it.
You want to sign up right now without talking to anyone. Goodcall is fully self-serve. Our free Done-For-You setup means a short onboarding conversation, and if you would rather skip humans entirely, that is a point against us.
Your caller base is small and stable. Under 100 unique callers a month with predictable volume makes the customer cap irrelevant, and at that point you are choosing on features, not limits.
You want directory-based transfer routing. Goodcall's directory contacts model (3 / 25 / 500 by tier) is a structured way to route calls to named people, which suits multi-person offices.
Where we would pick WarmLane
Conversely, we would point you at us when: your caller volume is above 100 a month or unpredictable; you want your call history to still exist next quarter; you want AI analysis and QA scoring on every call rather than just a transcript; and — most of all — when you would rather someone else built the thing properly than build it yourself at sixty percent and never come back to it.
The quickest way to test whether our build quality justifies that claim is to call the agent we built for ourselves: +1 (218) 683-6315.
