My AI Front Desk Alternatives (2026): What 200 Minutes Really Buys

Bar chart of AI Sales Agent cost at 100 three-minute calls a month: Rosie Scale $149, Dialzara $135, My AI Front Desk $114, Goodcall $79, Upfirst $69.95, Warmlane $39.50 plus about $15-20 usage at cost.
Short answer

My AI Front Desk (it calls itself Frontdesk on its site) charges $99/month, or $79/month billed annually, for 200 voice minutes, then $0.25 a minute. That plan also bundles web chat, two-way SMS, a CRM, automations and up to 20 outbound calls a day - real value if you use them. If you only need the phone answered, 200 minutes is about 66 three-minute calls, and the bill climbs from there.

The strongest alternatives depend on volume. Upfirst is cheaper at low volume ($24.95 for 30 calls). Rosie Scale ($149 for 1,000 minutes) holds steady through a busy month. Warmlane is an AI Sales Agent: it answers every call, then qualifies the caller, handles the price question and books the job, for $39.50/month (founding price for our first 50 customers, locked for life; list $79) with no minute cap, plus your own phone and AI usage at cost - about $15-20 a month at 100 calls. Built for you, live within a day.

What My AI Front Desk costs in 2026

My AI Front Desk publishes one self-serve plan and one custom plan. Here is what the pricing page says, read today.

Plan Monthly Billed annually Voice minutes Extra voice
Business-in-a-Box$99$79/mo200/mo$0.25/min
Partner / EnterpriseCustom - volume pricing (voice "as low as 7 credits/min"), API access, dedicated account manager, white-glove onboarding

Source: myaifrontdesk.com/pricing, verified 5 October 2026. Business-in-a-Box also includes 100 chatbot conversations, 400 SMS, 500 email drafts, 300 website form submissions, 20 outbound calls a day (a hard daily cap), unlimited sequence automations, a 20-page knowledge base, "2 of each" agent actions, 3 notification recipients, 2 editor seats, Zapier, and data retention of the "last 200 logs." It carries a pool of 1,000 overage credits a month (1 credit = $0.01; unused credits expire monthly); auto-reload adds 1,000 credits for $10. Voice overage is 25 credits a minute. 7-day free trial; the page says no credit card is required.

Two things stand out. First, the 1,000 monthly overage credits are worth $10 - that covers 40 extra voice minutes. Second, 200 minutes is the whole phone allowance; every other channel has its own allowance on top.

What it genuinely does well

It would be easy to write this page as "they meter minutes, we don't." That would be unfair, because My AI Front Desk is selling something broader than phone answering.

  • One tool for every channel. Phone, web chat, two-way SMS, email drafts, form capture and a CRM in one plan. If you would otherwise pay separately for a chatbot and a texting tool, the $99 does a lot.
  • Outbound calls. Up to 20 a day for reminders and follow-ups. Warmlane's AI Sales Agent does not make outbound prospecting or reminder calls at all.
  • Self-serve and fast. The page says setup takes five minutes. If you want to start tonight without talking to anyone, that is a real advantage.
  • Automations and Zapier. Follow-up sequences (text a new lead, email them the next day) are included and unlimited.
  • Property-management depth. Its site lists integrations with property-management systems such as Yardi, AppFolio and Buildium. If that is your business, it is built for you in a way a general tool isn't.
  • An annual discount. $79/month if you pay for the year up front.

Where it falls short

200 minutes is not many calls. At a three-minute average that is about 66 calls a month, or three a working day. A trade business in a busy week, or a clinic with a steady phone, passes that quickly - and from there every minute costs $0.25.

Your best calls cost the most. A caller who asks questions, pushes back on price and then books is a long call. Minute billing makes your most interested callers your most expensive ones.

Call history is short on the base plan. Data retention on Business-in-a-Box is listed as the "last 200 logs." Depending on how logs are counted across calls, chats and texts, a busy month could roll older records out of view. If you need to check what a caller was told six weeks ago, ask how far back that reaches for you.

You build it. The self-serve plan is configured by you; white-glove onboarding is listed among the Partner/Enterprise features. The plan includes two of each agent action (for example, transfers and lookups), which can be tight for a business with several departments.

A shorter trial. Seven days, against 14 for Warmlane and Upfirst.

The per-call math at 100 and 300 calls

Here is what My AI Front Desk costs as volume rises, assuming a three-minute average call and that the monthly credit pool is spent only on voice.

Calls / month Minutes Over 200 min My AI Front Desk Warmlane
501500$99$39.50 + ~$6-12 usage
100300100$114$39.50 + ~$15-20 usage
300900700$264$39.50 + ~$30-60 usage

Our arithmetic from myaifrontdesk.com/pricing, verified 5 October 2026: extra minutes x 25 credits, minus the 1,000 included credits, at $0.01 per credit. 100 calls: 2,500 - 1,000 = 1,500 credits = $15. 300 calls: 17,500 - 1,000 = 16,500 credits = $165. Annual billing lowers the base from $99 to $79. Warmlane figures are the founding price for our first 50 customers, locked for life (list $79), plus your own Twilio and OpenAI usage billed at cost by those providers - about 6 cents per call minute, 10-20 cents for a typical call, plus $1-2/month for the number. Your average call length will differ; use your own phone bill to check it.

To find your own number, open last month's phone bill or call log, count inbound calls and total minutes, and divide. That one figure decides most of this comparison.

Don't compare tables. Compare calls.

Each alternative in one paragraph

Warmlane AI Sales Agent - best if you want it built for you and no minute meter. It answers every call 24/7, qualifies the caller, quotes your own prices, handles common objections with your pre-written answers, books onto Google Calendar or Calendly, sends text and email confirmations, warm-transfers when needed, and calls back and texts anyone who hangs up. Text transcripts and AI analysis for every call, CSV export, 29 languages (one per agent). What it doesn't do: web chat, outbound calls, payments, or direct CRM integrations - and it keeps text transcripts only, no audio recordings. See pricing.

Upfirst - best at low call volume. At $24.95 for 30 calls it is cheaper than Warmlane if you get a handful of calls a month. Every plan includes appointment scheduling (Google, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity and others), warm transfers, in-call texting, call audio with transcription, 35+ languages and Zapier. The 14-day trial needs no card. Per-call billing gets expensive past 300 calls.

Dialzara - a clear minute ladder. Four tiers from $29 (60 minutes) to $349 (1,000 minutes), no setup fees, 7-day free trial. Warm transfers, calendar sync and bilingual English/Spanish start on the $99 Pro plan; custom prompt engineering starts on Plus at $199.

Rosie - steady through a busy month. The $49 plan takes messages but cannot book or transfer; Scale at $149 can, with 1,000 minutes - enough for about 333 three-minute calls, so its bill doesn't move between 100 and 300 calls. Self-serve. We compare it in detail in Rosie AI alternatives.

Goodcall - unlimited minutes, metered by customers. $79 per agent for 100 unique customers, then $0.50 each. Starter keeps call details for 7 days. Full breakdown: Goodcall alternatives.

Smith.ai and Ruby - real people. Human receptionists with judgement, from $300 for 30 calls (Smith.ai) or $250 for 50 minutes (Ruby). The right choice when calls are complex or sensitive; expensive at volume. See Smith.ai alternatives and AI Sales Agent vs answering service.

When My AI Front Desk is the better choice

Pick My AI Front Desk if

You want phone, web chat, two-way SMS, email follow-ups and a CRM from one vendor and would actually use them. You need outbound reminder or follow-up calls. You run property management and want its Yardi, AppFolio or Buildium connections. You prefer to set things up yourself tonight. Or your phone volume sits under 200 minutes a month.

Pick Warmlane if

The phone is the channel that matters, your volume is above about 66 calls a month or swings with the season, and you want the agent written for your business by someone else - your prices, your objections, your booking rules - and live within a day.

How the trial works: day 1 you start free with no card; days 1-14 our team sets up the AI Sales Agent and it answers your incoming calls; on day 15 you add a card to keep it, or the account pauses - nothing charged, nothing deleted. You can run it next to a My AI Front Desk trial and compare transcripts. Want to hear one first?
